Minneola tangelos are also sometimes called Honeybells. As tangelos go, the Minneola tends to be pretty large and is usually bell or pear-shaped. The fruit combines the sweetness of the mandarin with the tart flavors of the grapefruit, and it is highly prized for its juiciness and combination of sweet/sour flavors. This results in a fruit that is sweet-tart, exotic in flavor and extremely juicy. Sumo Citrus is only grown in the San Joaquin Valley of California and with partner growers in Australia. Sumo Citrus is available from January through April every year.
